NVIDIA and Microsoft Revolutionize Windows PCs with AI Agents and RTX Spark

NVIDIA and Microsoft have collaborated to revolutionize Windows PCs with AI agents and RTX Spark, a new hardware platform that puts the full NVIDIA AI stack into Windows laptops and compact desktops. The partnership aims to enhance the capabilities of AI agents, providing developers, gamers, and enterprises with the tools and capabilities needed to unlock the full potential of AI. With the introduction of RTX Spark and AI Agents, Windows is bringing local AI closer to everyday work, while new hardware gives developers room to run increasingly capable models right on their PC.

  • NVIDIA and Microsoft collaborate on new AI technology for Windows PCs, introducing RTX Spark and AI Agents.
  • RTX Spark combines NVIDIA's Blackwell RTX GPU and Grace CPU for local AI performance.
  • MXC provides a secure infrastructure for AI agents to run safely and persistently in the background.
  • RTX Spark offers 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and up to 128GB unified memory.
  • The platform caters to developers, creators, gamers, and enterprises with various use cases.
  • The partnership also includes the NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows, a deskside AI supercomputer.

  • NVIDIA and Microsoft have collaborated to kick off a new era for Windows PCs, introducing a range of innovative hardware and software solutions designed to enhance the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) agents. The new technology, which includes RTX Spark and AI Agents, aims to transform the Windows ecosystem and unlock new possibilities for developers, gamers, and enterprises.

At a recent event in San Francisco, Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO, and Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, outlined the vision for the new partnership. Huang emphasized the significance of Windows in NVIDIA's history, stating that the company was founded due to its support for Windows. Now, AI agents are coming to Windows, marking a significant shift in the industry.

Microsoft EVP of Windows and Devices, Pavan Davuluri, highlighted the importance of creating a secure platform for AI agents. The company announced the general availability of Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC), which provides a secure infrastructure for agents to run safely and persistently in the background. MXC enables developers to build and deploy agents on Windows, unlocking the full potential of AI in the enterprise desktop.

RTX Spark, a new hardware platform, puts the full NVIDIA AI stack into Windows laptops and compact desktops. Laptop preorders are open today, with available models on October 16. Compact desktops will be available for sale in November, with designs ranging from slim laptops to compact desktops built for always-on agents.

RTX Spark combines an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores, and an up to 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU connected at 600 GB/s. The platform offers one petaflop of FP4 AI performance and up to 128GB unified memory, making it effective for local AI. RTX Spark runs the full NVIDIA CUDA platform, providing developers with the same software stack used across NVIDIA hardware.

The platform is designed for every way people use a PC, catering to developers, creators, gamers, and enterprises. Developers can move models, tools, and workflows without rewriting, using the same NVIDIA AI stack from RTX Spark to DGX Station. Creators can utilize 5th-generation Tensor Cores with NVFP4 support, hardware-accelerated AV1, and 4:2:2 video encode and decode, DLSS, and RTX ray tracing across the full production pipeline.

Gamers can run AAA games at 1440p over 100 frames per second with DLSS 5, Reflex, and G-SYNC. The compact desktop configuration puts the same RTX Spark superchip in a small chassis designed for 24/7 operation, creating a dedicated local AI system that keeps agents running continuously.

The partnership also announced the NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows, the first deskside AI supercomputer to bring GB300 Grace Blackwell-class AI infrastructure directly into the Windows ecosystem. The system unlocks the power to run frontier-class models locally, providing capabilities that once required renting a cluster. The NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows is designed to bridge the gap between Windows and Linux, enabling developers to build and run always-on AI agents that connect directly to Windows applications and infrastructure.

The collaboration between NVIDIA and Microsoft marks a significant milestone in the development of AI agents on Windows. The new technology has the potential to transform the industry, providing developers, gamers, and enterprises with the tools and capabilities needed to unlock the full potential of AI.
