NVIDIA Advances Agentic Security for Media, Empowering European Public Service Broadcasting and Global Content Production

NVIDIA advances agentic security for media, empowering European public service broadcasting and global content production, with a focus on expanding sovereign standards and open models for media.

  • NVIDIA partners with EBU to advance agentic security for media, aiming to revolutionize content production and distribution.
  • The partnership expands sovereign cloud framework, providing secure and reliable platform for deploying agents and managing data.
  • NVIDIA and EBU collaborate on open models for media, providing visibility into inspecting, evaluating, and adapting AI for local languages and archives.
  • Adobe enhances its Frame.io platform with NVIDIA's GPU-accelerated search pipeline, accelerating video search capabilities.

  • In a groundbreaking collaboration, NVIDIA has joined forces with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to advance agentic security for media, a development that promises to revolutionize the way public service broadcasters produce and distribute content. The partnership, which was announced at a creative industry event in Berlin, aims to expand the sovereign standards introduced last year for European public service media, bringing in sovereign cloud providers, open model developers, and systems integrators to define how broadcasters can deploy agents while keeping control of their data, infrastructure, models, and security.

At the heart of this initiative is the expansion of the sovereign cloud framework, which will provide broadcasters with a secure and reliable platform for deploying agents and managing their data. Microsoft, Nebius, and Qvest will provide expertise and services to help broadcasters map the standards to sovereign deployment options, including Azure Local and Foundry Local. Nebius will offer a platform for broadcasters to train, fine-tune, and run their own models on European infrastructure, while Qvest will provide media-specific consulting and systems integration to ensure that reference architectures are practical, interoperable, and deployable in real-world broadcast environments.

The EBU's chief technology and innovation officer, Antonio Arcidiacono, hailed the expansion of the sovereign standards as a significant step towards strengthening resilience, retaining control, and delivering accountable advanced services that sustain audience trust. "These standards give EBU members a shared foundation to strengthen resilience, retain control and deliver accountable advanced services that sustain audience trust," he said.

In addition to the sovereign cloud framework, NVIDIA and the EBU are also collaborating on the development of open models for media, which will provide broadcasters with visibility into inspecting, evaluating, and adapting AI for local languages, archives, and editorial policies. NVIDIA Nemotron open models will provide a foundation for broadcasters to customize for domain-specific applications and public-service requirements.

Meanwhile, Adobe is also highlighting its latest enhancements to its Frame.io platform, which is accelerating video search capabilities with NVIDIA accelerated computing. The platform uses NVIDIA's GPU-accelerated search pipeline to speed up video search and processing, with results of up to 5x faster embedding generation, up to 4x higher throughput, and up to 5x lower latency for search processing.

The collaboration between Adobe and NVIDIA is particularly significant for UFA, one of Germany's leading film and TV producers, which delivers over 3,500 hours of programming a year. The company's editors often need to search for specific moments in videos, which can be challenging due to the large size of the content libraries. Frame.io's semantic search and hybrid search features, which can find moments inside videos by concept, action, or setting, and hybrid search, which adds notes, transcripts, and approval status, will enable UFA's editors to search for specific reactions or unresolved exchanges from as far back as 15 years.

The partnership between NVIDIA and the EBU is part of a broader collaboration that spans Adobe Substance 3D, Firefly Foundry, and 3D digital twin workflows for enterprises. NVIDIA's technologies for media and entertainment will play a critical role in empowering broadcasters to innovate and produce high-quality content while protecting data, editorial independence, and cultural diversity.

In conclusion, the collaboration between NVIDIA and the EBU marks an important milestone in the development of agentic security for media. By expanding the sovereign standards and providing open models for media, the partnership aims to empower European public service broadcasters and global content producers to innovate, produce high-quality content, and protect data and editorial independence.
