NVIDIA has taken a significant step forward in its mission to accelerate quantum computing by partnering with leading hardware developers across Taiwan's supercomputing ecosystem. Discover how these collaborations are driving innovation and progress in this rapidly evolving field.
NVIDIA partners with leading hardware developers in Taiwan's supercomputing ecosystem to form accelerated quantum supercomputers. The collaboration enables the development of state-of-the-art AI supercomputers with integrated quantum hardware, accelerating computational challenges. One key partner is Taiwan's National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC), which announces a new supercomputer designed specifically for quantum research. NCHC and NVIDIA explore quantum solutions for applications in machine learning, chemistry, and more through the National Quantum Team. A partnership between AIST and NVIDIA integrates an NVIDIA supercomputer with over 2,000 GPUs and quantum processors. Increased availability of quantum-AI platforms accelerates the growth of the quantum computing ecosystem.
NVIDIA has taken a significant step forward in its mission to accelerate quantum computing by partnering with leading hardware developers across Taiwan's supercomputing ecosystem. At the recent COMPUTEX trade show, the company underscored its work with partners to form accelerated quantum supercomputers that can aid researchers in tackling some of the world's most complex computational challenges.
At the heart of this initiative is NVIDIA's work with supercomputing centers and hardware developers to integrate quantum hardware into state-of-the-art AI supercomputers. This collaboration enables the development of accelerated quantum supercomputers, which can accelerate the scaling of today's quantum processors into helpful devices for solving some of the world's biggest computational challenges.
One of the key partners in this endeavor is Taiwan's National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC), which has announced a new supercomputer designed specifically for quantum research. The NCHC's AI supercomputer, built by ASUS, will feature NVIDIA HGX H200 systems with over 1,700 GPUs, two NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 rack-scale systems and an NVIDIA HGX B300 system built on the next-generation NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra platform — interconnected by NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand networking. This powerful system is expected to go live later this year.
NCHC's collaboration with NVIDIA and other partners will enable researchers to work together under the National Quantum Team, exploring quantum solutions for applications ranging from machine learning to chemistry. The center has already started using NVIDIA CUDA-Q to explore quantum solutions for these applications, demonstrating its commitment to advancing accelerated quantum supercomputing.
Another significant partnership in this initiative is between AIST and NVIDIA, which have integrated an NVIDIA supercomputer with more than 2,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs and quantum processors from Fujitsu, QuEra Computing, and OptQC. This integration enables the development of advanced quantum-AI platforms that can accelerate breakthroughs in quantum computing.
Increased availability of these quantum-AI platforms is poised to accelerate the growth of the quantum computing ecosystem. Researchers will be able to make significant contributions in the field by developing new error correcting codes, integrating quantum processors within AI supercomputing, and simulating low noise designs of quantum hardware.
The partnership between NVIDIA and leading hardware developers across Taiwan's supercomputing ecosystem marks a significant step forward in the development of accelerated quantum supercomputers. As researchers continue to explore the vast potential of quantum computing, these collaborations will be instrumental in driving innovation and progress in this rapidly evolving field.
