  • In a groundbreaking announcement, Google Cloud and NVIDIA have jointly announced the general availability of NVIDIA Vera Rubin Infrastructure, a cutting-edge platform designed to support next-generation agentic and reinforcement learning workloads. This significant development marks a major milestone in the evolution of AI infrastructure, paving the way for organizations to deploy advanced agentic systems and reinforce their competitive edge.

The NVIDIA Vera Rubin Infrastructure is built on the foundation of A5X instances, which combine the power of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, NVIDIA ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, Google Cloud Virgo Network, and Google Cloud's fourth-generation advanced liquid-cooling technology. This powerful synergy enables demanding agentic inference and reinforcement learning workloads to be handled at scale, making it an ideal platform for organizations seeking to advance their AI capabilities.

Ineffable Intelligence, a London-based technology company founded by AlphaGo creator David Silver, was the first customer to access A5X. Ineffable is utilizing the platform to advance large-scale reinforcement learning and develop "superlearner" systems that can learn continuously from experience. According to David Silver, "We're building superlearners that continually improve through their own experience. That demands both substantial compute and a tight connection between generating experience and training on it, so each improvement in the agent can quickly shape its next experience."

Other notable organizations, including WPP and Vertebrae, have also demonstrated their creative agent reference architectures on NVIDIA Vera Rubin-based A5X instances using NVIDIA Nemotron models and NVIDIA OpenShell. These agents have successfully converted conversational requests into multistep creative workflows, such as video generation, upscaling, and restyling, with human approval before execution. OpenShell provides governed sandboxes for agent execution, helping control access to sensitive brand assets and creative tools.

In addition to its computational capabilities, NVIDIA Vera Rubin Infrastructure also supports Confidential Computing, a technology that enables organizations to protect proprietary models and sensitive data that power their agentic systems. Google Cloud will be among the first cloud providers to offer NVIDIA Confidential Computing at rack scale on bare metal instances such as A4X Max instances powered by NVIDIA GB300 NVL72.

Furthermore, Google Cloud and NVIDIA are exploring NVIDIA DSX MaxLPS capabilities for Vera Rubin-based infrastructure to help optimize performance per watt and expand capacity within available data-center power budgets. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce the environmental impact of AI infrastructure while maintaining its computational performance.

The general availability of NVIDIA Vera Rubin Infrastructure marks a significant milestone in the evolution of AI infrastructure, offering organizations a powerful platform for deploying advanced agentic systems and reinforcing their competitive edge. As the demand for AI-driven solutions continues to grow, this infrastructure is poised to play a vital role in shaping the next wave of agents and transforming industries.
